The RF transmitter unit that went inside the Uverse remote in lieu of a battery appeared to cause the remote to be underpowered. I have AT&T Uverse and this did not work well at all with the receiver box. Signal was intermittent.
I did have a Universal programmable remote with rf blaster (which has now been recycled) and was a pain to program. There is a slight time lag but so far the system has worked flawlessly. I am using the Next Generation Remote Extender (plus extra battery/transmitter)to control a Directv remote and Pioneer Elite DVD player located in a bedroom closet. There are 3 closet/bathroom walls between the living room and the location of the "flying saucer" base station. No programming required.
Does not work as advertised, heck, it hardly works at all. It does allow control of the volume and muting so the signal path is fine - the unit just isn't suitable for controlling all equipment.Emailing the company has been a waste of time.My suggestion is to consider buying an RF equipped unit with an RF remote.
It worked well and solved a problem when I movet the stereo and other equipment into a closet to get them out of the living room. I like it.
I have all my DirecTV receivers downstairs and I use my DirecTV remotes for the upstairs TV's with this unit, works like a charm. The only downside is if you have a harmony remote with a custom rechargeable battery this will not work.but anything that uses AAA or AA batteries a wonderful and amazing device
